O maior PROTESTO DE LUZ no Mundo acontecerá a 7 de Agosto 2008, o dia anterior à abertura dos Jogos Olímpicos em Beijing. quando pelo menos 100 milhões de pessoas por todo o planeta acenderão uma vela e dirão SIM à Liberdade no Tibete!

A campanha começou no ‘facebook’ a partir do desktop de David Califa, 52, um privado, aposentado, com historial em investimentos bancários, de Ramat Hasharon, Israel. Mr. Califa tem financiado esta campanha com os seus próprios fundos. "Vela pelo Tibete" cresceu rapidamente para um movimento global que opera um ‘website’ multilingue (25 línguas, todas traduzidas por voluntários), com a sua rede social paralela.

Mr. Califa juntou agora esforços com membros do Unity Network, um movimento global actuando com o fim de promover a unidade e o amor entre os seres humanos independentemente da sua cor, nacionalidade, sexo, religião ou política.
A diva Tibetana, Yungchen Lhamo, juntou-se a "Vela pelo Tibete". Miss Lhamo, reconhecida como "A Voz do Tibete", conduzirá a campanha com a sua divina voz, música e espírito.

Até ao momento, mais de 500,000 pessoas de mais de 100 países estão já inscritas.

"Vela pelo Tibete" pede às pessoas que acendam uma vela à sua janela, secretária, ou qualquer outro local onde outros a vejam e desejavelmente façam o mesmo. Muitos participarão em vigílias de luz à volta do mundo. Espera-se que este protesto de luz seja visto por biliões nas TVs de todo o mundo no dia de abertura dos Jogos Olímpicos.

No dia seguinte serão enviadas cartas a todos os presidentes de governo mundiais informando-os exactamente quantos seus concidadãos desejam um Tibete Livre. Exigindo a cada um deles que actue pela Liberdade do Tibete.

Razões pelas quais o protesto de luz Vela pelo Tibete é único:

Um protesto de luz é um novo modo global que releva o poder de cada pessoa em manifestar a sua opinião por uma causa nobre. Não é de modo nenhum um protesto virtual.

Ele anuncia o ruir das fronteiras em termos de democracia, e a capacidade de cada um votar numa ideia. Ele traz esperança.

E faz ver às pessoas, independentemente da sua nacionalidade, sexo, raça, política ou religião que, se quiserem unir-se por uma ideia, hoje em dia, podem mudar a sua reallidade.

É a mais significante e eficaz votação de referência para os governantes. (Angela Merkel e Gordon Brown de certo estavam cientes da opinião pública no seu país em relação à causa Tibetana)

Nunca um protesto de luz teve a magnitude deste Vela pelo Tibete.

É um protesto pacífico. É também sem fins lucrativos.
